El Segundo Public Library Partnership Planning

Hayes spent parts of nearly every day at the ES Library reading, playing in the children's room, and participating in organized activities like group music and story time circles. We are proud to support the mission and programming of the ESPL.

Planning is underway on four initiatives in partnership with the Library:

  • Educational Program Supplies Donation, allowing for increased capacity and a higher quality experience for the library’s toddler learning program program
  • Hayes' Permanent Library, through which a total of 100 copies of Hayes' favorite books will be donated for local children to take home permanently. This initiative will commence with a reading circle and activity day planned for early 2027
  • Children's Room Beautification, through which the Hayes Lamothe Foundation will fund and operationalize, in partnership with the El Segundo Public Library and the Arts Committee, a repainting of the nearly 30-year old mural in the children's room in 2027
  • 2027 Truck Day, a family activity day to be funded and organized by the Hayes Lamothe Foundation, in partnership with the ES Public Library

$50,000 Donated to
The SUDC Foundation

The SUDC Foundation is the only foundation dedicated solely on supporting bereaved families who have lost children to SUDC, and provided vast resources to the Lamothe Family in the months following Hayes' death.

In June for 2026, the Hayes Lamothe Foundation made a $50,000 contribution allocated as follows:

  • $20,000 to fully-fund the Family Retreat scholarship program, ensuring families facing financial hardship are able to attend the SUDC Family Retreat, a key moment for grieving and healing
  • $15,000 to The SUDC Family Services Program to ensure SUDC Families have the direct services needed to navigate their grief journey
  • $10,000 to General Operating Support reflecting core operations, organizational health and lasting impact.
  • $5,000 to The SUDC Foundation Research Partnership and Initiatives through the Roberts Program at Boston Children’s Hospital. This is one of the foremost research programs on SUDC and SUDEP, and the program Hayes was accepted to and has been evaluated by.
